MG Motor Philippines Holds 8th Place as Q1 2026 Sales Reach 2,109 Units

Steady Sales Performance Across the Quarter
MG Motor Philippines continues to demonstrate stable growth in the local automotive market, recording a total of 2,109 units sold in the first quarter of 2026.

The brand delivered consistent month-on-month results, posting:

  • 716 units in January
  • 696 units in February
  • 697 units in March

This steady performance reflects sustained consumer demand and a well-balanced product lineup across key vehicle segments.

Maintains 8th Place in Industry Rankings

Based on the latest data from CAMPI, MG maintained its 8th place ranking in overall industry sales.

This positioning highlights MG’s continued relevance in a highly competitive Philippine automotive landscape, reinforcing its status as a strong mid-tier player.

Core Models Continue to Drive Growth

Sales performance was largely driven by MG’s established nameplates:

  • MG5 – a consistent performer in the sedan segment
  • MG ZS – one of the brand’s most recognizable and accessible SUVs
  • MG HS Hybrid+ – expanding MG’s electrified portfolio

These models continue to resonate with buyers due to their balance of design, practicality, and value, helping MG maintain steady volume across segments.

Electrification Gains Ground

MG’s evolving lineup, particularly its hybrid offerings, is seeing increasing acceptance among Filipino consumers. As fuel efficiency and sustainability become more important purchase considerations, electrified vehicles like the HS Hybrid+ are helping the brand stay relevant in a shifting market.

This aligns with MG’s broader strategy of offering accessible electrified mobility, rather than positioning hybrids as niche products.

Leadership Perspective

Wei Wei Zhang, President of MG Motor Philippines, emphasized the brand’s direction:

“MG Motor Philippines held its strong position in the first quarter of 2026, showing the growing trust of our customers and the strength of our expanding vehicle lineup.”

He added that MG will continue focusing on global-quality vehicles, electrification, and accessibility moving forward.

What’s Next for MG Philippines

Building on its Q1 performance, MG is expected to push further growth through:

  • Introduction of new models
  • Expansion of its dealership network
  • Continued nationwide initiatives

The goal remains clear: to make modern, tech-forward mobility more accessible to Filipino drivers while strengthening its foothold in the market.
