VinFast Rentapasada Guide: Everything You Need to Know

With rising fuel prices and increasing demand for ride-hailing services, VinFast Philippines and Green GSM have introduced a new way for Filipinos to enter the transport industry. Called Rentapasada, the Drive-to-Earn program allows qualified drivers to operate a VinFast electric vehicle through the Green GSM platform without the need to purchase a vehicle outright.

Instead of taking out a car loan or investing over a million pesos for a new vehicle, participants can rent a VinFast EV under a structured long-term program while earning through ride-hailing operations.

But how exactly does the program work, and what are the costs, requirements, and earning potential involved?

What is Rentapasada?

Rentapasada is a vehicle rental and income-generation program designed around Green GSM’s ride-hailing ecosystem.

Drivers gain access to a VinFast vehicle and operate exclusively through the Green GSM app. Revenue generated from completed trips is shared between the driver and Green GSM, while several ownership-related expenses such as registration, insurance, and maintenance are covered by Vinfast PH.

Who Can Apply?

According to VinFast and Green GSM, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Professional Driver’s License
  • NBI or Police Clearance
  • Medical Certificate
  • Drug Test Result
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)

Available Vehicles Under the Program

Participants can choose from two VinFast models currently offered under Rentapasada.

How Revenue Sharing Works

One of the biggest selling points of the Rentapasada program is its revenue-sharing model.

During the first year of operation, drivers receive 90% of trip revenues generated through the Green GSM platform.

1st Year 90%
2nd to 3rd Year 85%
4th to 5th Year To Be Announced

Driver Performance Requirements

To remain eligible under the program, drivers must meet specific operating targets.

  • 250 trips per month
  • Equivalent to roughly 10 trips per day
  • Based on a 25-day working month

Service Quality Targets

Drivers must maintain:

  • 90% Acceptance Rate
  • 90% Completion Rate

Failure to meet these minimum requirements may affect a participant’s standing within the program.

Sample Earnings Computation

To illustrate the program’s earning potential, Green GSM provided a sample operating scenario using the Herio Green.

Example Operating Day

  • 10 Trips

Distance Covered:

  • 154 Kilometers

  • Approximately 5 Hours

  • ₱3,015

Driver Share (90%):

  • ₱2,713.50

Less Daily Deduction:

  • ₱1,300

Estimated Net Take-Home:

  • ₱1,413.50

Actual earnings will vary depending on demand, trip distance, traffic conditions, and driver activity.

One Major Advantage: Free Charging

Perhaps one of the strongest advantages of the program is the charging benefit.

VinFast and Green GSM announced that charging costs will be waived at participating charging stations from:

March 13, 2026 to March 31, 2029

For drivers transitioning from gasoline-powered vehicles, this could significantly reduce daily operating expenses.

What Happens If You Terminate the Contract Early?

The program also outlines provisions regarding early termination.

If a participant voluntarily ends the contract before its completion, Green GSM may retain the security deposit and impose additional charges depending on the remaining contract value.

The company may also terminate the agreement if a participant:

  • Fails to meet minimum operating requirements
  • Misses rental payments
  • Violates program policies
  • Misuses the vehicle
  • Damages the Green GSM brand through misconduct

Should You Consider Rentapasda?

For many aspiring TNVS drivers, purchasing a new vehicle remains the biggest hurdle to entering the industry. Rentapasada attempts to solve that problem by replacing vehicle ownership with a rental-based model supported by VinFast’s growing EV ecosystem.

The program removes many of the costs traditionally associated with vehicle ownership, including maintenance, insurance, registration, and inspection fees. Combined with free charging for several years, it presents a different approach to ride-hailing operations compared to conventional gasoline-powered vehicles.

However, prospective applicants should also carefully consider the long-term contract commitment, daily deductions, and required performance targets before enrolling.

As with any income-generating program, profitability will ultimately depend on trip volume, operating discipline, and the driver’s ability to consistently meet platform requirements.
